This Privacy Policy describes how Prompt Station ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information in connection with the use of our Chrome Browser Extension (the "Extension").

We are committed to protecting your personal privacy. Unlike many other extensions, we strictly adhere to a "Local-First" architecture. We do not collect, transmit, store, or sell your personal data to any external servers.

1. Information Collection and Use

We prioritize your privacy by minimizing data collection. The specific types of information handled by the Extension are described below:

A. User-Generated Content (Prompts & Settings)

All data you create or save using the Extension, including but not limited to:

Custom prompts and templates
Configuration settings and rules
Items saved to the "Inbox"
Imported JSON configuration files
Local AI memory content (Fixed Memory and Dynamic Memory)
Local AI conversation history

Storage Location: This data is stored exclusively on your local device using the Chrome Storage API (chrome.storage.local) and browser volatile memory. It is never synchronized to our servers or any external services.

B. Chat History Export Data

The "Export Chat" feature allows you to download conversation logs from supported AI platforms. This process occurs entirely within your browser's volatile memory. We do not retain, upload, or view your conversation history.

2. Permissions Justification

To function correctly, the Extension requires specific browser permissions. We use these permissions solely for the purposes stated below:

Storage (storage): strictly used to persist your preferences and prompts locally on your hard drive.
Context Menus (contextMenus): used to add the "Save to Prompt Station" option to the browser's right-click menu. We only process the specific text you highlight and select. We do not passively monitor your browsing activity.
Host Permissions (*://*/*): required for two technical reasons:
1. To inject automation scripts into AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) to enable the "One-Click Deploy" feature.
2. To support "Local AI" functionality, allowing users to define custom domains (e.g., localhost, private IP addresses) where the extension should operate.

3. Data Security

Since we do not maintain a backend database for user data, your information is as secure as your personal computer and browser environment. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system updated to ensure local data security.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with any third parties. There are no tracking pixels, analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics), or advertising SDKs embedded in the Extension.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
